Organic herbs from the mountains

The smell of tea fills the nostrils – and soon you feel as if you’ve been whisked away to a bright Alpine meadow. Of course, the image of the great outdoors is even more appealing when the herbs are organic and actually grown in the mountains. Like in Kennel’s Alpine herbal tea. Although this bestseller is very popular among consumers, it’s rarely recognised as a Kennel product. This is because many of our firm favourites – including the Alpine herbal tea – are sold under different brand names.

The perfect blend

It all comes down to the blend. At Kennel, we’ve known this since 1934. In the beginning, alongside tea recipes, we mostly produced herbs to add to schnapps mixtures for large and small distilleries, and animal feed. Then came the 1990s – a particularly exciting decade for us. Together with Migros and Ricola, Kennel decided to promote herb growing in the mountains. This commitment resulted in our most popular organic Swiss Alpine herbal tea. Since 1996, the classic has remained unchanged on the shelves and still enjoys huge popularity.

Its own discipline

Creating the kind of harmonious interplay between exquisite herbs you find in Swiss Alpine tea is a science in itself. The key conditions: extensive experience, a sensitive palate and, of course, top-class tea herbs. Our experts know the aromas inside and out, so they can start coming up with the recipes in their own heads. Then it’s time to try them out and enhance the recipe until the blend is perfect. When it comes to our Alpine herbal tea, we’ve obviously done this very well indeed.
